BAFTA night

As you probably know, tonight was the night of the BAFTAS. If you're just weird and don't know what they are it's the British Academy of Film and Television Awards. They're pretty huge and a lot of stars turned up to present and receive awards.

I have to say I was more disappointed with some of the award outcomes than I was appointed.. (is that the correct word to use?) My big issue was that Jennifer Lawrence did not win for lead actress. I'm sorry BAFTA but you're pretty blind. She has won best actress all throughout the awards season so far this year and pulled out a stunning performance in Silver Linings Playbook. She should have won, she really did deserve it. But anyway congratulations to the actress who did win, can't remember her name but she won for her role in the movie Amour.

I'm glad Silver Linings Playbook did get some recognition though and won for best adapted screenplay (at least I think that was the name of the award). It really is an amazingly heartwarming, relatable and funny movie. I really do hope though that it wins lots and so does it's cast at The Oscars.

I'm really pleased Anne Hatheway won for best supporting actress too. She's been winning all awards season long, too. It was quite clear she was going to win though, what an amazing performance she gave in Les Misérables! Along with Jennifer Lawrence, she really is becoming one of my all the favourite actresses. The two of them are hilarious as well which just adds to how much I love them as people.

I was surprised at how Argo won best movie. I haven't seen it win much at the awards, only that it has been nominated quite a lot. People have also had their attention very much fixed on other movies winning such awards, e.g. Django Unchained, Les Misérables and Silver Linings Playbook. I was convinced that Les Misérables was going to win.

I really cannot wait for The Oscars because I can already tell it is going to be a blast! I've never really payed this much attention to all the awards shows before. They're actually really exciting and a lot of people I look up to and love are nominated and currently winning for different awards. So that just makes it all the more fun and exciting.

The Grammys are also on tonight. In fact I think it's on as I am writing this blogpost. This awards show is for music though and again is a very big event for those on the industry. Musicians and singers such as Justin Bieber, Elton John, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran will all be there this evening. So that promises a very entertaining night with lots of cool performances. Unfortunately I can't watch as I must sleep! 

Anyway on a personal note I will be going back to college tomorrow after a week of resting and complaining about how ill I am. My cough is close to gone, it doesn't hurt anymore, it just tickles. More annoying than anything because every time I cough it tickles more!

Going to sleep now as I have to wake up for college in 6 hours. Damn...that's depressing :(

P.s. If you watched, how CUTE was Martin Freeman at the BAFTAS. Seriously developing an unhealthy obsession and love for him.
